I wrote this song a very long time ago. So long ago, the recording of this song was released on Cassette!!
I had a great time this past Saturday performing an acoustic set at the Carousel Lounge in Austin. It has been there “forever” with a circus theme. I opened for Fosskit No 5, Flat Stanley and The Ashbury Keys. Fun was had by all!
Here is my opening song called Sycamore. I have not recorded it yet. Hopefully soon!
Wow! I haven’t played in a very long time. Selling sex toys has kept me a very busy man!
I’ll be doing an acoustic show at Cherrywood Coffee this coming Saturday. I’m opening for Fosskit No. 5. Details below:
I traveled to the Island of Faial with my Husband Steve and my family last summer. Both my parents were born there. I first went when I was 14 years old. I was beginning my teen angst years combined with the beginnings of dealing with being gay. Needless to say, I was a bit preoccupied to appreciate how amazingly beautiful this Island is.
Every corner of every turn on every road is a postcard!
The island was formed by a now dormant volcano. When my parents were growing up, farmers would take their livestock down rocky paths to the bottom of the crater to feed on the nutrient rich grasses. My dad would do this barefoot when he was growing up.
There was a violent earthquake in 1998 where 1,700 people out of a population of 15,000 were left homeless. The path down to the crater of the volcano was drastically changed. Gone is the path used by farmers. A more rough descent now exists from when I was 14… or maybe my age just makes it feel that way!
Here is a video of the climb down and up. Enjoy!
So, I got 5 seconds of my song “Right Behind The Rain” in the movie “Something Borrowed”. Steve and I went the weekend it was released. It is a big thrill to hear something you create heard by millions of people…even if it’s 5 seconds…as background music…that most viewers wouldn’t even notice…I did!!
Even cooler than that was seeing:
“Right Behind The Rain”
Performed by Phil Dutra
Written by Felisberto Dutra
scrolling down the screen during the closing credits! That felt even better than hearing the song in the movie!
Getting the check for the song placement felt the best…No, I won’t be retiring any time soon.
